In 2000, the
Rotary Club of Fremont donated approximately
$42,000 as part of a local match that will
help the city extend the North Coast Inland
Trail by 2.2 miles. The Club helped to pay
for it to continue along the railroad
through Walsh Park and across the Sandusky
River. It will then branch off to Rodger
Youth Park, the intersection of Hayes and
Park avenues and Swartzlander Rotary Park in
downtown Fremont.
The trail
expansion was part of the Club’s 75th
anniversary celebration. This project was
co-chaired by Past President Denny Newman
and President Brian Koenig, and completed in
2002. |
