SPECIAL UPDATE on Community Christmas 2014

Yesterday I received the most heart-warming text message that reminded me the true meaning of Christmas, and I just had to share:
Mariana Vasquez, and her five children, were one of the families we chose to adopt for Community Christmas this year. I had to call her several weeks ago to get some ideas for gifts for her thirteen-year-old daughter, Anahi. Mrs. Vasquez apparently saved my phone number, because I received the following text message from her yesterday.
“Hi, Lorie, I’m Mariana, the mom of the 5 children you adopted for the Community Christmas. I just want to thank you so very much for all the gifts. I picked them up today and I was full of emotion when I saw all the gifts…my Children are going to love it! Bless you and again thank-you!”
I let her know that the gifts were from Rotary and not me. I also reminded her to look in the bags for her gift card for Kroger’s. With that, she continued…
“Here’s a picture of my kids. Merry Christmas to you, too, Lorie, and thank you!!!! I’m still crying from joy, of course it’s such a blessing and please let them all know how thankful and happy I am and you’re more than welcome to share the picture. My kids are my everything and this really means a lot. I will look for the card. Thanks!!!!”
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year, fellow Rotarians.
